When choosing between overlapped VFFS belts with covers and those without cuts, it’s crucial to understand the implications of each option.
There are two main types of bagger belts: those with cuts and those without. Some suppliers offer lower-quality haul-off belts by taking a basic belt, applying a sheet of cover material, cutting a piece from it, and gluing it onto the basic belt in an overlapped manner. Overlapped coating have one preferred working direction.
This approach presents significant issues:
– If the operator mistakenly switches the belt direction, the cover can come off almost immediately, which is a common occurrence. Same happens if the belt is mounted in wrong direction.
– The lifespan of belts with cuts tends to be much shorter.
While the overlapped version may appear cheaper at first, considering downtime, maintenance costs, and the shorter lifespan reveals that the higher-quality belt is ultimately more cost-effective.
