Sometimes the most interesting projects start with a belt that does not exist yet.
Recently, we were contacted by a large manufacturer and distributor whose machine-building customer was developing a new machine.The challenge was a special HTD 8M timing belt.
At first glance, it looks similar to a coated timing belt because of its unusually thick backside. But there is one important difference: the entire belt, including the thick top layer, is made as one PU construction.There was no standard product on the market that could meet the requirement. So we started working together with the machine designer through our distributor partner.
Several weeks of technical discussions, design reviews and manufacturing considerations followed.The distributor had previously worked with a supplier much larger than Bervina, but they were not satisfied with the cooperation. In the end, the project came to us. We received the order, and Bervina will also design and manufacture the dedicated tooling required for the new belt.
This is exactly the type of project we enjoy most. Not simply supplying a timing belt, but working together with distributors and machine builders to develop a solution when the standard product does not exist. Projects like this are what make us proud of what we do at Bervina.
